The Movement
The Road to December One draws inspiration from three powerful places in American history. Each location represents a defining chapter in the journey toward justice, leadership, and empowerment.
Greenwood – The Blueprint
In 1921, the Greenwood District of Tulsa, Oklahoma was known as Black Wall Street — one of the most prosperous Black communities in the United States.
Thriving businesses, schools, and institutions demonstrated the power of economic independence and community leadership.
Though the community was devastated during the Tulsa Race Massacre, Greenwood remains a symbol of resilience, wealth building, and the importance of rebuilding economic opportunity.
Montgomery – The Spark
On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks refused to surrender her seat on a segregated bus in Montgomery, Alabama.
Her courageous act sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott and ignited the modern Civil Rights Movement.
Under the leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and countless community organizers, Montgomery became the birthplace of a national movement for equality and justice.
Atlanta – The Evolution
Today Atlanta stands as a global center for Black leadership, entrepreneurship, culture, and influence.
From business and entertainment to faith and community leadership, Atlanta represents the modern evolution of the movement.
It reflects how the legacy of courage, sacrifice, and unity continues to shape opportunities for future generations.

The Power of One
At the heart of Road to December One™ is a simple but powerful truth — one person can spark change.
One Person
Every movement begins with one individual willing to stand for something greater than themselves.
One Action
A single act of courage can inspire others and create momentum that spreads across communities.
One Connection
When people connect their circles of influence, small actions grow into powerful networks of impact.
One Moment
History reminds us that one moment — like Rosa Parks on December 1, 1955 — can change the course of a nation.
Through the Power of One, individuals activate their personal circles of influence — family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors — forming a living network of purpose called ConnectWork™.
ConnectWork™ — A New Way to Connect
ConnectWork™ reimagines networking. It’s not about exchanging business cards — it’s about exchanging purpose. By connecting circles of influence, individuals and organizations create meaningful relationships that strengthen communities and expand opportunity.
Intentional
Relationships built through shared purpose and meaningful conversation rather than transactional networking.
Inclusive
Connecting people across generations, professions, and communities to build stronger networks of opportunity.
Community-Driven
Strengthening neighborhoods and cities by linking leaders, organizations, and everyday citizens.
Mission-Aligned
Every connection is built around shared values, growth, empowerment, and community impact.
Through ConnectWork™, individuals activate their circles of influence — family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, and partners — forming a powerful network that transforms communities one connection at a time.
Honoring the Courage That Sparked a Movement
On December 1, 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama, Rosa Parks refused to surrender her seat on a segregated city bus. Her quiet act of courage sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott and helped ignite the Civil Rights Movement across the United States.
The Road to December One honors that legacy by transforming remembrance into action. Each year, communities gather to reflect on the lessons of history while building a future grounded in unity, leadership, and empowerment.
Voices of the Movement
The Road to December One carries forward the spirit of those who stood for justice, dignity, and equality. Their words continue to guide and inspire the journey today.
"You must never be fearful about what you are doing when it is right."
Rosa Parks
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."
